Elgar's Countryside
Join Brian Draper M.B.E as we take a look at the countryside loved by Sir Edward Elgar, starting at his birthplace in Lower Broadheath, which is now the Elgar foundation museum.
Then on to Worcester, Malvern, Ledbury, Hereford and Gloucester. We also take a look at several of the houses that he lived in, his social haunts, his old school, his places of worship and other places he had connections with such as Spectchley Park, Croome Court, Eastnor Castle, Berkeley Castle, Little Malvern Priory and Powick.
Brian takes a lighthearted approach as we call at Elgar's favourite pub, look at the places he would have cycled to including the bluebells along Jubilee Drive, Colwall and The British camp.
We go to his favoured fishing spots on the rivers Teme and Lugg. Along our journey we take a look at the countryside and how it has changed since his time. We also hear about some of the legends and tales from days gone by.
